Menopause
is not taboo

Discover women’s stories, expert information and open dialogue about a life stage that is still talked about far too little.

Menopause is a natural part of every woman’s life – and yet most of us do not talk about it out loud. At WeCare, we believe that openness and sharing are the way to remove unnecessary fears and prejudices from this period.

The Menopause is not taboo project was created in collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar and Žena a život magazines with the aim of giving a voice to women who want to share their experiences, feelings and small personal rituals that helped them feel better. Our joint initiative opens up space for honest dialogue – about the body, emotions and the change that menopause brings.

Sharing that heals

In a series of videos, women speak who decided to experience their journey without shame and with courage. They openly describe how they perceived menopause, what was challenging for them and what new things they discovered.

They share what helped them – whether it was a lifestyle change, dietary supplements, movement or simple kindness towards themselves. Their stories bring inspiration and support to women who are just entering a new stage of life. We believe that hearing how others experienced it can be the first step towards understanding and acceptance.

“Our goal was to create a safe space where women can ask, share and reassure themselves that they are not alone in this. As one of the project participants said – sharing itself can be healing.”

— Karolína Heligrová, WeCare Director

An expert perspective and women’s experience

The project also includes physician MUDr. Veronika Klát Lattová, who brings an expert perspective on menopause from both the physical and psychological side. She reminds us that this period can be not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for deeper self-knowledge.

“Women in the menopausal period usually already have children at an age when they are independent and can therefore fully devote themselves to themselves and their needs. The menopausal period can also bring a number of realizations and benefits.”

— MUDr. Veronika Klát Lattová

A community that connects

The more we talk about menopause, the less room remains for myths and fears. We want to create a community of women who inspire, support and share their experiences with one another. And because many of them mentioned the positive effects of herbs, we decided to contribute our expertise as well – this is how the About Your Menopause capsules were created, containing a balanced combination of plants known for their calming and harmonizing effects.

In the formula, you will find, for example, St. John’s wort, chaste tree, evening primrose, black cohosh or licorice – herbs that women have used for centuries.

“Our wish is for every woman to feel that she is not alone in this phase of life. That menopause can be a beginning, not an end. A time when we can reconnect with ourselves – with respect, calm and care.”

— Barbora Štípa, WeCare Marketing Director
